The annual year-end
art exhibit of Biskeg Pangasinan was held last December 22-23 in cooperation with Panaderia de
Antonio - Locale at JDV Calasiao Pangasinan and it's everything we needed to get
on the pre-holiday vibe! The event featured the biggest mural in town, food market, bazaar,
vintage car display, live music and poetry from professional and budding local
artists.
I went there with my
hommies Ate Mica of Senyorita.net, Sir Simon of What's Up Dagupan and Sir Mike
F. of Pixelhub Creative. We started off by munching on whichever looks good,
food stalls there offered crepes, halo-halo, lechon belly, barbecues, paella, pizzas
and many more. But nothing tastes better compared to free food, so I'd like to
make a shout out to my friend, artist, Jai Hernandez for the free snacks as
starter. Haha!

Ate
Mica and I walked around to document the affair for our mini video blog while
also drinking mojitos baby. We talked to old friends and met new ones.
Shout out to Lou Austria for dragging me up the stage for the "Bring
Me" game where Mr. Pochacho (emcee & artist) asked to bring him the sexiest girl in
the audience for the grand prize of [wait for it].. a face
towel! Hahaha, charot! But what a way to break the ice, nice to meet y'all
especially to Direk Noubikko Ray wooh!

My favorite saba and coconut milk halo-halo. |
On the second day of
The Mansamit Show 3, me and my high school classmates decided to have an
all-girl mini reunion. Six of us chatted over food and Red Horse beer while
listening to the eargasmic, acoustic voice of Ruth Anna and the Ulap band. We've
watched intense emotional outburst from local poets and eventually parted later
on with lots of selfies and group photos.
I joined the group of
Patrick, the Biskeg Pangasinan artists, then. Free booze everywhere! It was fun
until Pochacho reminded of the promise I made the day before. And so, I went on
stage and sang with Ulap band. It was already late anyway, everyone's packing
up and it were just us. I dedicated a song for Pochacho since I owed him that
promise, no other shizzz intended. Hahaha. It was funny and scary, you
guys didn't know I could sing noh? Char! Plus the booze really helped and
I saw Direk Noubikko at the back todo suporta rin, encouraging me. So thank you
again!

Full pack! |
But guys!! The main
highlight of this event is the art exhibit by our
local artists. More than the Instagram-worthy pictures taken posing in front of
the paintings -it is our support that is most
appreciated. So make noise, buy their art, be inspired and become an
inspiration.
For more info about
the art exhibit, the artists and their works - go check out their Facebook
page: Biskeg Pangasinan. It's 2017 and I am already looking forward for The
Mansamit Show 4! Hope to meet new people and see more works there, plus
international media coverage! Push!
