WELCOME YEAR 2018!!

New year, new me?

Nope, still the same.

m o o d
We've all been there before right? Making New Year's resolutions and forgetting them before we knew it. SO, instead of posting about what's and what not's, I'm writing about my expectations this year.

For starter, I expect everyone to be watching vlogs on Youtube rather than reading blogs on the different blogging platforms available online. I expect that more people are going to travel this year after a surge in the number of travel vloggers and travel agencies out there. I expect to see more makeup gurus online and more makeup brands reaching out to every market segment. I expect a crowd at the gym after the holiday food binge, and I expect that I will be one of them.

How about you? What are your expectations this year? Comment below! Photos by JD Tomagan

FUN SHOOT WITH JD TOMAGAN

It's been a while since I last did a fun shoot with a photographer friend, so when JD Tomagan asked me a few days ago I didn't think twice. I knew him from way back in 2012, when we worked together for a small fashion shoot for this local boutique called The Glam Zone PH. We've been friends on Facebook since then and I've seen him consistently harnessing his talent and skills in photography and videography.

Meanwhile, I stopped modeling because I don't know.. maybe I stopped trying? Hmm. I seriously missed posing in front of the camera though. So, during this shoot, I felt really awkward and super conscious about how I look. It took me a while before I got my old groove back again.

As for the preparation, I can say I had minimal prep for this shoot because it's supposed to be casual and fun. No pressure, no hassle. JD Tomagan is really professional, he knows what he's doing and he's really improved a lot. He knows where my best angles are and is always open for suggestions.

Engagement Shoot Inspiration: Faces Portraits

After watching the movie adaptation of Cecilia Ahern's Love, Rosie and Nicholas Sparks' The Best of Me in one sitting, its effect on me is somewhat hilarious and annoying at the same time. Hilarious because I had been stalking Faces Portraits Facebook Page to look at engagement and wedding photos from their albums and unconsciously planning my own prenup theme in the process! Annoying because, what the hell am I thinking? I don't even have a boyfriend, so an engagement shoot is far too impossible to happen to me at the moment. Haha!

But really guys, just look at these photos.. doesn't it make you feel giddy excited for when your perfect time (and guy) comes?
Josh x Meri Ann
Jan x Grace
Gerard x Sheng
Joey x Tisha
Jef x Yan
Jef x Yan
..And my favorite from this set of photos? Josh and Meri Ann's. Why, of course, they're my friends and I'm biased just like that! Chos. Haha. Maganda lahat! Basta, I like my prenup photos to come out effortlessly cool. I'm kinda thinking of a chic minimalist theme with sexy, chill vibe. Haha, here I go again!

TIP: It is important that you communicate and have an understanding with the people who will be working with you behind the scenes, so they could deliver well and meet your expectations. Also, invest and do hire a professional!

Faces Portraits' main headquarters is located in Dagupan City. Jesson Veedor, proprietor and chief professional photographer of Faces Portraits, works closely with his wife Apple Llamas-Veedor, a professional makeup artist and owner of All Eyes On You boutique. Together they bring out the best in themselves to help make the wedding of your dreams a reality.

ColorManila Dagupan 2015

I woke up at 5AM and arrived at the CSI The City Mall grounds just in time for the 10k runners to start and for me to find my friends. After a few Hi's and Hello's from everyone, I found myself third wheelin' with Ezer and Shayne. Main goal here is to cover the event for my blog, run and have fun, and so I did! Okay, I walked. Brisk walking, it's totally the same thing guys! Haha, kidding. But, I was happy to see that a lot of people participated. Students, barkadas, serious runners, foreigners and balik-bayans alike. Along the way into our five-kilometer run, we were greeted and cheered on by the members of the University of Luzon Drum & Bugle Corps. How nice of them! Incoming runners were welcomed with 'color throws' in every 2 km reached, and if I remember it correctly, the first color throw was green, followed by blue, then yellow, pink and purple. Paramedics and police officers were also there circling the grounds, always ready for anything. Good job guys!

Each of us were given a color packet after the run, we're supposed to throw it out in the air all at the same time. One must choose whether to film it or jump in with the rest of the crowd. I chose the latter and was engulfed in colors! It's like a massive rainbow unicorn fart except that it actually didn't smell, and the foldable shades that came with the race kit didn't defeat its purpose. Color Manila assured that the color powder used are all certified non-toxic and free of any heavy metals. It's also easy to remove, just follow the step by step instructions shown at the end of the program, or you can watch the animated infographic about it on Color Manila's Facebook Page.

Of course, the best part is when the DJ brought the house down with awesome dance music and pretty sick mix. I tell ya, everybody's still pumped up for the after party. The people, the music, the energy.. Man, we were killin' it back there. It's evident to everyone's faces how colorful the event had been. Ye, seriously. Both literally and figuratively speaking. Haha!

I am so looking forward to joining more color runs in the future, maybe in India or in Germany where it all began! This has surely been one of the main highlights of my summer!

Grey Travels The World - Singapore

Sharing with you guys today my first post on Grey Travels The World featuring my favorite hang out places in the metro. And if you've been following me on Instagram (@lvlygrey), I've said in one one of my posts that I would rather walk down the underpass than cross the pedestrians at Clarke Quay. And the reason why, aside from it is obviously safer duh?! Simple. Because it is where two of my favorite things in life meet: Music + Art. I even had the privilege to sing my favorite Nirvana songs with one of the enthusiastic musicians down there. It was a pretty cool experience for me, Kurt Cobain must have been so proud.

Watch this short clip I took from my trip.

Gone Girl Movie Review

I didn't know about Gone Girl until I saw a couple of articles about it posted online. But Ben Affleck bores the hell out of me (it's not you Ben, it's me), or so before I watched this movie, and that's the reason why I ignored it at first.

But what made me watch the movie? Peer pressure.

If it weren't for my friends, I wouldn't have discovered this thrilling, captivating, mentally and emotionally challenging story that will make you want to know more about.

The movie was so good it deserved all the recognition they are receiving right now. Gone Girl has been well-accepted both critically and commercially as a matter of fact. Ben Affleck, in the movie, was a natural asshole; Neil Patrick Harris - hopeless romantic / filthy rich, possessive martyr; Emily Ratajkowski - a young, flawless home wrecker; and Kim Dickens a badass investigator - she is the epitome of an older, wiser, real-life cool girl. Wouldn't you agree with me on that?

And Rosamund Pike, my God! **Separate paragraph for RP since I really really like her** I felt like an Amy Dunne in the deepest, darkest compartment of my soul is trying to come out. I was moved by how you portrayed the character, YOU ARE Amy Dunne. You're not a damsel in distress! You are the most stunning, well-organized psychopath, an emotionally unstable, attention-seeking rich kid who is very passionate of the one person who will eventually cheat on you and break your heart and ask for divorce because you lost your cool all those eccentric, sex-driven, perfectly imperfect, happy married life you are trying very hard to show in public and in front of your idealist parents and their fancy way of making you feel down along the whole process. Rosamund Pike you deserve all the nominations and whether you get or not these best actress awards, you are still highly praised by all. We want to see more of you in the future!

I loved the movie so much, I bought it in paper! Gillian Flynn, you are a master storyteller. I truly admire your work. Thank you for being the author of Mr. & Mrs. Dunne's twisted, wicked lives. I still believe it's an open ending. More psychological thrillers please!

“We weren’t ourselves when we fell in love, and when we became ourselves – surprise! – we were poison. We complete each other in the nastiest, ugliest possible way.” ― Gillian Flynn, Gone Girl

What camera do you use for blogging?

I never thought this time will come when I can afford to buy my own camera. It's true that all is not given to you, one must learn to work intelligently and persevere.

I am using Canon EOS 70D and I honestly don't know yet how to operate its full function, neither use Photoshop to make retouches, but all in all I am happy with it.

I am quite excited and frustrated at the same time, I mean, I have a new camera but who's going to take the photos for me? Like 'what now?' Hahaha. Ahh, I will figure it out. I'm looking into just settling this with an ol' trusty tripod. Yay!

Beauty and Madness!

Hello to all my lovely followers, I finally found time to make a new post! Hooray :)
Sunday evening rain is falling here at my place and I got just the right mood to have coffee and to blog. How's summer in Western countries? I hope you've picked the best summer destination ever, don't forget to bring with you your sunscreens! :) Hmmmm...... So out of the blue I had a fun shoot with a good friend, who preferred not to be identified, one rainy afternoon in our favorite hang out place.
Here are some of the shots my friend took.

I am wearing...
Top : Glam Zone
Necklace : Glam Zone
Leggings : Cotton On

A bad hair day? Not really :) Hmmmm... Cutting my hair short soon! Maybe at the end of this year?

Anyway, I love my photos just as how raw they are! But a very talented young man named John Louie Dela Vega took time editing one of them. I am so surprised at how this unedited photo above began to look so magical and prettier (in a way) in this photo below. What can you say? :)

Hmmm. I love the mood in these next photos, don't you? To my good friend, thank you!

In the background is the Pebble Beach Cafe where me and my friends hang out.

Time to read my friends' and followers' blog posts! :)
Thank you so much for your time reading mine. I hope you get to visit my blog again some time soon. To everyone who left a comment to my previous post THANK YOU SO MUCH!
See yah around.
